Borough of Ambridge - Take Back Merchant Street
Take Back Merchant Street is a community led initiative to celebrate the completion of the Merchant Street Streetscape project. A steering committee made up from business owners, residents, and other interested parties is being formed and their first meeting is scheduled for April 1st, 2019.
The event will involve volunteers, Merchant Street business owners, and other Ambridge groups coming together to work on the Take Back Merchant Street initiative.
A one-day event is planned tentatively for 13th July 2019, where the participants will work together to give an overall facelift to the shopfronts and other properties between 4th and 8th Streets on Merchant Street. We will be cleaning windows, painting doors and window frames, and generally cleaning up the area to beautify our precious main street, making it an attractive place for residents and visitors to shop, take a leisurely stroll, or just relax in one of the multiple green spaces being provided by the streetscape project.
At the end of the day’s work, a street party will be held for our volunteers, giving them a well-deserved reward with free food and drinks and entertainment.
